Layers in Hydraotes Chaos

Layers in Hydraotes Chaos

Layers in Hydraotes Chaos
Also visible in Context Camera data, the objective of this observation is to examine layers in Hydraotes Chaos. Hydraotes is what geologists label as “chaotic terrain.” It’s recognizable by a jumbled collection of mesas, buttes, and hills, chopped through with valleys which in places look almost patterned. Chaotic terrain occurs in numerous locations on Mars and maybe unique there.
