South Polar Residual Cap

“What a Desolate Place This Is”
The words of C-3PO were never more true! Only this time, we are talking about the terrain of the South Pole of Mars, where the goal of this observation is look for changes in long-monitored sites of what is called the “residual cap,” that part of the ice that survives the Martian summer. The southern cap is smaller than the northern one. Any changes here will be small.
