In this observation, we see the last sign of visible bedrock in an area of Lyot Crater completely covered by dunes. A single dune stands triumphant on it! Lyot was formed during the Early Amazonian period and is the largest and deepest crater in the northern plain of Mars. Our science goal is to monitor frost changes on the dunes. The dark streaks are the result of sublimating ice.
