Inverted Channels and Clay-Rich Terrain in Mawrth Vallis

Inverted Channels and Clay-Rich Terrain in Mawrth Vallis

Wonders of Mawrth
Often appearing as a candidate landing site, Mawrth Vallis is a topographical wonderland of inverted channels, light-toned rocks and clays. Clay minerals have implications for past wet environments along with the potential to preserve biosignatures. This public request was made to investigate the regional stratigraphy and reasons for the topographic inversion.
