Channel Upstream of Jezero Crater

A Channel Upstream of Jezero Crater
A Context Camera image shows a crater breach exit channel that stops at this location. One model (called a “knickpoint”) predicts a rapid drop-off in elevation at this point, while others predict a gradual grade-off in elevation, smoothly matching non-eroded terrain. If a knickpoint is present, the cataract height can constrain models of bedrock erosion processes.
