Layers in Crater in Phlegra Montes

Layers in a Phlegra Montes Impact Crater
The objective of this observation is to examine at least two layers that are exposed in the wall of an impact crater that’s less than 5 km across. Even without a 3D picture, we can easily see that the crater’s walls are fairly steep. Phlegra Montes are a series of mountain ranges, massifs and knobby terrain in the northern lowlands of Mars.
