This observation site includes both fluvial features and possible volcanic features.A high resolution image can contribute towards a better understanding of the fluvial and volcanic histories of this region. Marte Vallis is a valley that has been identified as an outflow channel, possible created by a catastrophic release of water from aquifers beneath the Martian surface.
