Elliptical Escarpment in Planum Angustum

An Elliptical Escarpment in Planum Angustum
This particular area, called Cavi Angusti, consists of linear shaped depressions with sharp-edged escarpments (long steep slopes). Within the depressions sinuous and linear ridges occur. The question is if these ridges are formed by surface processes or if some other mechanism was at work, such as volcanism, tectonics, or impacts.
