These exquisite layers may actually be very thin, so high resolution can let us examine them in greater detail. Topographic information would be extremely valuable for analyzing the potential paleoclimate record contained in this deposit’s layers. Burroughs is about 104 kilometers in diameter and is named after famed American author Edgar Rice Burroughs.
