The objective of this observation is to examine thin layers along a depression that we can use to compare to others in Arabia Terra. Some have characteristics like thickness and roughness that can be discovered with Context Camera images, but HiRISE can resolve more details so that the layers can be more closely matched across a vast horizontal areas and at different depths.
