Terrain Sample in Cracked and Pitted Eastern Utopia Planitia

Cracked and Pitted
This cracked and pitted terrain is located in Utopia Planitia. Also called “scalloped topography,” it’s common in the mid-latitudes of Mars, and may form from the removal of subsurface material, possibly interstitial ice, by the process of sublimation.
